The Studio
RomTale is a small studio with one product: grown-up romantic comedies you play opposite an AI lead. November 2026 saw the doors open, and the whole call sheet is made up.
The pitch
Romance readers shop by trope, so we built a site that lets them. Pick the setup you love, fake dating or a snowed-in inn or a feud between bookshops, and you are cast opposite the woman who plays it best. We wrote 16 leads, gave each of them a trope, a past and a way of arguing, and then wrote the beats that trope usually follows. The rest is improvisation, and you are half of it.
About the name
Rom stands for romance and comedy and nothing else. It has no link to any file format, any ethnic group or any game console, and no title in the genre has been borrowed. The tropes are old property; the women and the scenes are ours.
What the studio will not do
- Pass off a lead as a living person, or a person as a lead.
- Cast anyone under 18 in any trope, in any costume, however the request is phrased.
- Make a trope out of family ties between lovers; step-relations and the like are off the reel.
- Hand your transcripts to a third party or let an advertiser skim them.
Fan mail and complaints
Whatever lands at the footer address goes to an assistant with a pulse. Praise is pinned to a corkboard for the cast; complaints go to the producer.
